Videographic paperless recorder ElMetro-ViER-M7
Videographic paperless recorder ElMetro-ViER-M7 (8") is intended for measurement, record, visualization and conversion of electric signals of sensors and instruments: current and DC voltage, resistance, resistance thermometers, thermal couples, pyrometers, digital signals (RS-485, CAN, Ethernet) as well as calculation of mediums flow. Recorder is designed as a switchboard device. It is equipped with a display and touch-sensitive keyboard (capacitive type). General purpose industrial type of the recorder is available.
Recorders ElMetro-ViER-M7 are designed to replace paper chart recorders and could serve systems for data collection and transmission to automatic technological process control system (ATPCS) as they are equipped with RS-485 (Modbus RTU), CAN 1.0/2.0 and Ethernet (Modbus TCP) interfaces. Recorders ElMetro-ViER-M7 accomplish functions of regulation, signaling and mathematical processing of measured parameters.
Using mnemonic schemes of the technological process makes understanding of information easier, especially in emergency situations at the site. Touch screen simplifies recorder configuration. It is possible to design distributed data collection systems on the basis of recorder ElMetro-ViER-M7 with the usage of input-output modules ElMetro-IOM and ElMetro-IOM-02-Ex. Present recorders could be applied almost in all industries, including at consignment and hazardous manufacturing.
Due to advanced mathematical and logical capabilities recorders could fulfill functions of industrial controllers. They could also be used as flow rate calculators according to the pressure drops or gas correctors in accordance to GOST 8.586.(1-5)-2005.
Technical characteristics:
ElMetro-ViER-M7 recorder is designed in metal housing with 203 mm (8”) diagonal TFT-display in the front panel and resolution of 600х800 pixels. In comparison to resistive type capacitive touch screen shows better consumer properties such as quick response, integrity, durability and reliability, moreover, there is no need to use protective films or carry out periodic screen calibration. Recorder is equipped with USB flash card slot at the bottom of the front panel. Processed information is stored in internal non-volatile memory and is output to the display. Recorder construction excludes possibility of a switch usage. Each analog input has its own ADC. In such way data from all channels is collected in parallel, in other words all channels are polled simultaneously. As a result a higher reliability and high-speed response could be reached – measurement cycle of all channels makes only 0.1 s. Built-in interfaces enable data interchange between the recorder and PC or other devices with relative interfaces.
Recorders ElMetro-ViER-M7 are divided into two types:
- General purpose industrial type (multichannel);
- 1, 2 or 3-channel general purpose industrial type.
According to a task, recorders could have different number of inputs/outputs.
Dependence of inputs/outputs number on the recorder type is provided in the table below:

Maximum number of analog channels could be extended to 32 if external input/output modules ElMetro-IOM or ElMetro-IOM-02-Ex are connected.
In order to provide power supply of connected sensors supply package of the recorder may include a single-channel power supply (based on 1AI1AO1PS) with following parameters:
- Output voltage – (24±2) V;
- Maximum output current– 25 mA;
- Built-in protection from short circuit and overload;
- Isolation strength – 1500 V (rms value) to power input ~220 V;
- Protection from short circuit and overload at output
or 4-channel power supply with following parameters:
- 4 isolated outputs of power supply Uout = (24.0 ± 2.4) V;
- Output current – not less than 100 mA per a channel;
- Output ripple voltage amplitude – not more than 50 mV;
- Isolation strength – 1500 V (rms value) to power input ~220 V;
- Control (indication and record) of short circuit or overload at output;
- Protection from short circuit and overload at output.
Board of power supply 4PS could power up to 12 sensors, which are connected to the recorder, from current loop 4-20 mA. Board of power supply PS is an independent power supply which works separately from analog inputs with sensors power channel AP.
Ex-proof provision:
General purpose industrial type.
Galvanic isolation:
All input and output circuits of the recorder have channel-to-channel galvanic isolation.
Operating conditions:
Ambient temperature: from 0 to +55 °С (at option: 0 …+60 °С, -10...+55 °С).
Ingress Protection Rating (according to GOST 14254):
- IP54 – from the front side;
- IP20 – from the back side.
Electromagnetic compatibility:
Recorder corresponds to GOST R 51522-99 for A class equipment, performance quality criterion C.
Power consumption:
Recorder is powered from
- single-phase AC current with 47…63 Hz frequency and 220 V ± 20% voltage;
- DC current with 185…340 V voltage.
Recorder power consumption from network with nominal voltage is not more than 30 V·A, whereas current consumed in such regime is not more than 140 mA.

Verification interval of recorders – 3 years.
Guarantee commitment:
Warranty period is 36 months from the date of setting into operation, but not more than 42 months from the date when flowmeter is shipped out from the manufacturer factory.
