Measuring process controller ElMetro-TeIR
Measuring process controller ElMetro-TeIR with PID-control function intended for measuring and converting analog output signals of sensors (DC power and voltage, resistance, signals of thermal couples and resistance temperature detectors) which transmit information about process parameters as well as executing control commands for regulation of technological processes.
Measuring process controller ElMetro-TeIR (hereinafter referred to as controller) is designed as a switchboard device. The front side of the controller includes (view Pic.1 – Front side of controller ElMetro-TeIR):
- 4-digit LED display (1);
- Linear LED scale (2);
- LED indicators of operation mode (3);
- Keyboard which enables to select operation modes and input values of setup parameters (4).
Back side (view Pic.2 – Back side of controller ElMetro-TeIR) includes terminal block with 220 V power supply contacts, grounding terminal, contacts of analog input, signaling output, couple relay (-3R), opto-triacs (-1R2T), built-in 24V power supply source (-PS), current output (-C), RS-485 interface (-RS-485).
Working principle of the controller is based on measuring input signal, its processing by a microcontroller and executing a relative control action (as discrete or analog signals) by means of output devices in dependence on a chosen operation algorithm:
- Signaling relay;
- Control relay and opto-triacs;
- Direct current output signals 0...5 mA, 0...20 mA and 4...20 mA.
Number and types of applied discrete outputs, availability of current output, power supply for connected sensors and interface type are determined by the controller configuration and pointed out in order sheet, view Pic.3 – Order codes description of controller ElMetro-TeIR.
Functionality and application:
Depending on the configuration controller ElMetro-TeIR executes following functions:
- measurement and visualization of technological parameters values;
- serves as a signaling device;
- serves as a normalizing transducer of TС and TR output signals;
- powers sensors at current loop;
- controller of temperature and other technological parameters according to algorithms: two-, three-positional, P, PI, PID, software and manual control;
- measurement data transmission to control system via digital channel RS-485 (ModBus RTU + OPC Server).

Ranges of analog current output: 0...5 mA; 0...20 mA; 4...20 mA.
Output parameters of built-in power supply source: 24 V ± 1%; ≤ 30 mA.
Time of working mode setup: ≤ 5 s.
Electromagnetic capability and interference emission: class А in accordance to GOST 51522-99.
Ingress Protection Rating:
- IP54 – from the front side;
- IP20 – from other sides.
Ambient temperature: from -10 to +60 °С.
Controller is powered from 220 V ± 20% voltage.
Power consumption does not exceed 10 W.
